Writers’ Honoraria Research Project, Vera List Center for Arts and Politics at The New School
The Vera List Center for Art and Politics initiated the Writers’ Honoraria Research Project, aiming to standardize writer compensation across cultural institutions. Through a detailed aggregation of data from nonprofit visual arts organizations in the US and Canada, this project compares fee structures based on text length and operating budget. By anonymizing institutional data, VLC aims to spark discussions around fair and consistent compensation for writers, contributing to broader conversations on equitable practices in the arts.
